Chiron Retrograde in Pisces on June 16, 2013

Healing old wounds

Keywords: empathy, compassion, healing, forgiveness

Chiron goes retrograde approximately once a year.  In 2013 it will be retrograde from June 16th at 13’50″ Pisces to November 20th at 9’7″ Pisces.  Chiron is an asteroid with a unique type of orbit.  Called the “Wounded Healer” in astrology, it receives its name from Greek mythology.  Chiron was a Centaur, a teacher, tutor and healer.  Although he helped many, he was not able to heal himself.

Chiron takes approximately 50 years to go full circle around the Zodiac, and wherever it goes in the chart it brings inner wounds to the forefront to be healed.  Whenever Chiron enters Retrograde it helps us to pause, look at the pain we carry inside, and let go.  The process is not an easy one, but it is a necessary one.  It invites us to look within and to find the part of ourselves that needs compassion, forgiveness, love.  Chiron retrograde forces us to look at other people’s wounds through the lens of empathy, common humanity and kindness.
