Soulful Arts

Tapping into the power of prayer, intention and synchronicity

“There is geometry in the humming of the strings, there is music in the spacing of the spheres.”

“But already my desire and my will
were being turned like a wheel, all at one speed,
by the Love which moves the sun and the other stars.”

Dante Alighieri.  La Divina Commedia.  Paradiso, Canto XXXIII, lines 142-145, C. H. Sisson translation.

The stars of astrology, prayer & self-discovery

Embracing the flow of uncertainty dancing to the music of free will, intention and faith.

I strongly believe in the power of prayer and that all is connected.

Among others, I have a strong interest in astrology, which stems from my fascination with Jungian psychology, myths and art history.

The study of the stars have been present in most cultures since the beginning of time.  Growing up in Italy afforded me the opportunity to be constantly exposed to the beauty of art and literature which is often filled with references to the stars.

The study of the astrological sky to me is neither science nor religion, and that’s what makes it special.  Astrology to me is a meditation tool of self-discovery.  Reflecting on the mystery of the starry sky above us can add extra magic to our lives, can help us remember that we are all connected, and can create a bridge between the tangible/logical (science/astronomy) and the intangible (our psyche/emotions/thoughts).  With astrology, I am neither interested in predicting the future nor in telling people how to live their lives. I am fascinated with finding meaning and connection between the microcosm of our lives and the greater cosmo/macrocosm.  Astrology to me is not an end in itself, but a way to tap into a part of our collective unconscious, that place where often times artists draw their inspiration.

In general, I believe in “God” and free will much more than I believe in the stars… When you approach my blog, do not “believe” in my astrology posts. Use them as tools. If they add joy or meaning to your life/the present moment, then by all means keep reading. If they make you doubt yourself, or your “God,” or your ability to believe that free will ultimately trumps fate, then stop. Happy reading! :-)
